Work on Veterans Memorial Coming Together Brick by Brick

Gallery 1

Brick by brick, a crew of workers has brought the veterans memorial closer to residents.

Workers from the town’s grounds division and a local landscaper started installing hundreds of concrete pavers Tuesday March 25, 2008.

Three members of the grounds division, Tim Aresco, Mike Olayos and Nate Strycharz, joined grounds division supervisor Carl Johnson in preparing the site and beginning the installation of the pavers.

They were joined by Jim Landry, the owner of Ever Green Landscapers of Portland, who is a master bricklayer.

The installation was completed on Friday March 28, 2008, the pavers form a circular walkway that links the sidewalk behind the Town Hall and the veteran’s memorial.

The intent is to make it easier for veterans and their families, especially residents and veterans who use walkers or wheelchairs, to access the monument.
