Board of Selectmen
SPECIAL MEETING
April 8, 2008

Present: John Anderson, Susan Bransfield, Carl Chudzik, Mark Finkelstein, Brian Flood, Sharon Gibala, and Kathleen Richards

The special meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by First Selectwoman Susan Bransfield.

Mrs. Bransfield reviewed the list of additions and reductions that were made at the April 7, 2008 meeting. The changes represent an increase of $864,835 to the total expenditure budget, representing a decrease of $493,826 from the proposed budget.

Mr. Buden prepared a list of additional reductions that would reach the Board of Selectmen's goal of a zero mill increase.

Motion was made by Mark Finkelstein and seconded by John Anderson to adopt the amendments that were agreed to at the meeting of April 8, 2008. Motion passed unanimously.

Motion was made by Mark Finkelstein and seconded by John Anderson to approve the following resolution:

ADOPTION OF FY 2008 - 2009 BUDGET

RESOLVED, that the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Portland hereby adopts the proposed FY 2008-2009 budget for $28,836,215, detailed as follows:

Town General Government: $11,140,444
Board of Education: $17,695,771

Motion passed unanimously.

Motion was made by Sharon Gibala and seconded by Kathleen Richards to adjourn the meeting at 7:44 p.m. Motion passed unanimously.
