This type of an incident would require residents to receive doses of oral medications such as: Cipro, Doxycycline, Amoxicillin, Penicillin, to name a few. The plan would be to preferably have a single representative head of household report to the designated parking area, currently the old Standard Knapp parking lot on Pickering St. Overflow for parking will occur within the Industrial Park areas itself, and in larger scale events possibly even Tri Town Plaza or even the Fair Grounds. Directional signs will be posted with instructions as necessary.
From there they will be bused to the Portland pre-screening site to complete a medical questionnaire for each member of their family they are representing. Once completed they will have their forms initially evaluated by medical personnel to screen for any medical or medication contraindications to the prescribed medications to be given. Once cleared, they will board another bus and be transported to the point of distribution (POD) site in East Hampton. This is the focal site for dispensing medications as this is where the CDC will have all shipments of medications and supplies delivered - not to each town. At no time are residents to drive directly to the East Hampton location as security / Police will not allow private vehicle's to enter the area and will be directed to return to the bus transport site. There they will need to show their forms to personnel in East Hampton and have them available for another review if necessary- finally receiving the correct amount of medication and instructions for their family, boarding a bus to the Portland Standard Knapp parking lot.
