Explorer Bylaws and Standard Operating Guidelines
The CT Fire Academy has a Cadet Fire Training Class every summer where Explorers, Juniors, and Cadets come and sleep over for a week and take classes along with gearing up and doing mock drills. In 2007 Patrick Richards, Ryan Sweeney, Matt Ziegler, and Ian Willse attended. In 2008 Mackenzie Kelsey, Kara O'Keefe, and Austin Personette attended. In 2010 Clayton Puida and Josh Leary attended. In 2011 Steven Agogliatti attended. Everyone who has gone has come back wishing to go back and dying to try out everything they learned!
The Portland Fire Explorers also participate in marching in parades. The group has marched in the Portland Memorial Day Parade along with the Cromwell Fire Convention Parade. Their FIRST time out Marching they WON 2nd Place for BEST APPEARING JUNIOR UNIT!
