Form of Government

A seven member elected Board of Selectmen headed by a First Selectman governs our town. Budgets are adopted through a two-step process: the Town Meeting followed by a referendum in May. Elections are held biennially in odd years. Current terms will end in 2000.

Election Date: Biannually, odd years, Tuesday after the 1st Monday in November.
Date Officials Take Office: Two weeks after the election, except for the Town Clerk (on State schedule).
