Hi! I'm Beth Morrissette, Director of the Senior Vitality Center.
With the arrival of our new Web-site, we introduce a new vision of what was once the Portland Senior Center. And with that new vision, a name change as well.
Welcome to the Senior Vitality Center, dedicated to enhancing the vitality of older adults!
Our mission, long misunderstood, is not about age, or just filling the hours, but about living! The Senior Vitality Center is dedicated to building and maintaining one's health. Making lifestyle changes. Planning and shaping a future you can enjoy to the fullest!
With this in mind, let me emphasize our firm belief that the future begins today. Let's work together to make it happy and vibrant.

Start now!

Our focus is to serve people aged 50 and older.
"50?" you might ask. "Isn't that young?"
Not in some respects. It's never to young to get prepared for the rest of your life!
Many people find that the decade of their 50s to be a period of life transition. Their children are getting older and more independent, perhaps moving out of the house. This results in a major transformation of lifestyle. It causes people to look at things more seriously. Financial concerns. Planning for retirement. Maintaining one's optimal health. Making new connections.
Part of this transition is learning how to invest your time and energy in yourself! Previously, everything centered around your children, or your career. Now, suddenly, it's your turn.
But how do you handle it?
People often find this period to be a time for introspection, and confronting some of life's more difficult transitions. Let us help you with these changes, so you can start enjoying life even more than before!
Change in inevitable in life. Don't get caught unprepared. Now is the time to protect your health and vitality for the many years to come.
Our goal? Making the second 50 years better than the first!
