Guidelines for use of
Community Announcement Sign

This sign is a self service community resource. Make your own
signs, put them up and take them down based on the following
guidel ines .

WHO MAY USE THE SIGN

1. Town & school events / notices
2. Non-profit / civic events

USES OF THE SIGN NOT ACCEPTABLE

1. Political events
2. Business advertising
3. Non- Portland events

SIGN ETIQUETTE

1. First Come First Serve
2. Not more than 30 days prior to event
3. Remove sign promptly after event completion
4. Include contact name & number on the back of sign.

SIGN REQUIREMENTS

1. Signs must be 24”x78”x1/8”
2. Use Coratex or an equivalent weather resistant material.
3. Signs must be white with black lettering.
4. Letters must be sized from 4.5’ to 6” high.
5. Use plastic lettering material or an equivalent weather
resistant material.

Remember for signs to be easily read, less is better!
A total of five words is ideal.
