Excitement is growing in Portland as our town prepares to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We're proud to be part of this once-in-a-generation event and are working hard behind the scenes to make certain Portland shines during this national milestone of its Semiquincentennial.
As a small town with a big heart, we're calling on our wonderful community to help us make this celebration unforgettable. We're currently seeking donations to support a broad range of events and projects that will honor our shared history and showcase our hometown pride.
Funds
Funds raised will help cover costs for:

Commemorative 250 T-Shirts

A broad series of events and activities celebrating our town's role in America's story in collaboration with schools and many of Portland's municipal and civic organizations

A town-wide time capsule to preserve memories for the future generations to be buried amidst a special program on July 4th, 2026 with a commemorative program

A Free Portland Hometown Festival at Riverfront Park, filled with live music, games, activities, and food - fun for all ages Saturday May 16 Rain Date - May 17
