Howl-o-ween Dog Costume Parade
Time & Location
About the event
Portland Youth & Family Services, along with Senior Services, the Library, Parks & Recreation, and Economic Development would like to welcome Portland dog-owners to join us for a get-together and costume parade on the Town Green behind the Waverly Senior Center. Registration is required, and dogs are required to be at least 6 months old and with updated rabies shots. The parade is free to attend, but we are asking for a suggested donation of dog/cat food or treats, which will be donated to the Portland Food Bank.
At 11:30am we will be starting the parade around the nearby blocks, which will take us by the Library, Town Hall, Waverly Senior Center, and the Police Department, before returning to the Green. We will have some local judges who will be providing prizes for the funniest, scariest, cutest, most original, and judge's favorite large and small dog.
We are also inviting any town businesses and organizations to set up a table or tent in the area and join the fun.
Hopefully it will be a great fall day for Portland's dogs to take their owners out for a walk and to socialize a bit.
Rain date Sunday, October 31st, 11am-12pm.
