Emergency Storm Brush Pickup
Free brush disposal will stop on Wednesday August 19th – All brush after this date must go over the scale and be paid for at the current rate of $40 per ton. Permits are required.
Due to the extensive damage caused by Tropical Storm Isaias, the Portland Public Works Department will be conducting a brush pickup beginning Monday, August 17, 2020. All brush must be at the curb by Monday morning. Brush pickup may take 6 – 8 weeks to complete.
Please leave enough room for the equipment to operate. Place your brush at least 5 ft. away from your garbage container and other potential obstacles such as mailboxes, fences, walls, water meters, telephone connection boxes and parked vehicles. Avoid placing brush under low-hanging tree limbs or power lines. Brush will not be collected if it’s inaccessible.
You can stack your piles of brush end to end, or on top of one another (not tangled). All brush needs to be cut to appropriate lengths (6 to 8 feet) and limbs must be no larger than 4” in diameter. Please place only true brush at the curb. Lumber, construction material and/or leaves will not be picked up if placed at curbside.
